We are now looking for employees for the function responsible for the agency's overall accounting.

With us, you will be a member of a team of experienced accountants. If you do not have much experience or previous government experience, you will have good opportunities to develop with us.

Your responsibilities and tasks

As an accountant, you will work both broadly and deeply within the accounting area, both with ongoing accounting and with year-end closing. Together with colleagues, you will work to develop, streamline, and ensure the quality of the agency's accounting.

You will be part of a team that is responsible for asset accounting, inventory accounting, loans, reconciliations, and reporting financial information to the government. We also set standards within the agency regarding accounting and therefore write rules and instructions for other users in the organization. The team is also responsible for being a support and sounding board in connection with changes and upgrades of the accounting system.

MSB is a preparedness authority, and the work is sometimes characterized by tasks that need to be solved with short notice. Therefore, you should enjoy working under conditions where you have to be prepared for the unforeseen. MSB is also an organization that is growing and receiving new assignments. This affects financial accounting, and we accountants are constantly faced with interesting challenges.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in accounting. You have an academic education in the field of economics with a focus on accounting and are in an early phase of your career.

The work also requires that you;

• are quick to learn new systems and are used to using various digital tools, such as Excel, and have good administrative skills
• have your own drive and can work independently and are confident in your skills.
• find it easy to make and maintain contact, thereby creating trust and a good collaborative climate.
• are analytical, meticulous, flexible, and can meet deadlines.

About the employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your workplace will be Karlstad, and travel may be required in the position.

Swedish citizenship is a requirement for employment at MSB as it involves placement in a security class. For employment, a satisfactory result in the security check with a background check is required, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Most employees at MSB are placed in wartime.

About us

The position is located within the accounting function, which currently has five employees. The function is part of the finance unit, which is one of the units within the operational support department. The overall goal of the department is to be an effective support that both assists and governs. The agency has offices in several locations in Sweden, and the finance unit in Karlstad is the agency's entire finance unit.

We have an activity-based office where you can choose your workplace according to your needs. You also have the opportunity to work partially remotely.
